I am a singer/songwriter from Westminster, S.C. My influences run deep in country music. However, my biggest musical influence was my dad, Frank Bond. I learned by watching my parents throughout the years, if you want something bad enough or work at something hard enough, anything can be accomplished. My mom & dad encouraged me to get into music at a very young age. They bought my first bass guitar when I was 13, and I joined my first band. I was determined to learn to play this thing, so with the help of my friends, I practiced and played until my fingers bled and calloused over. I had to prove to them that I was going to stick with it and I did. It wasn't long till they upgraded my equipment. Three years later, that band had helped make a movie and opened for such acts as The Statler Brothers and Kitty Wells. We were going strong till life got in the way. I took a 30 year break. My love for music lived on throught the years. Something was just missing from the puzzle. I often wandered why I kept holding on to that old Guild bass guitar. After reconnecting with my ole buddy Cleve, he said he still had his old guitar too from 30 years earlier. We wondered if it would be possible to make a little music again just for fun. We got together with Larry, Mickey, Austin, Mike and several other friends along the way. With the help, support and encouragement from my wife Pauline, we were making Sweet Country Music again. It took a lot of hard work, money, sweat, tears and many hours, days & months of practice to put it all together. But when we got on stage, the lights went down, and the crowd got into our music, it made it all worth while.

My music has taken a different turn now. I get these ideas for a song in my head and just have to persevere. I may be driving, dreaming or sitting in a restaurant when the idea for a song hits me. Call it a gift or a curse. I just have to follow up. While in Nashville in October 2009, Pauline led me by the arm into Gene Breeden Recording Studio; www.genebreeden.com. Soon I learned this man has been recording for over 40 years. He has recorded for such acts as Porter, Cash, Haggard, Jennings, Garth, Lawrence and the list goes on and on. This man is a "Legend" in Nashville. After meeting and talking with Mr. Breeden, he said when I have ten songs that I wrote, he would record a CD using all Nashville studio musicians. I love a good challenge, so I got busy writing more songs. By April 2010, I was in his Nashville studio to record my first 10 song CD project "Sweet Country Life". My dream was now a reality!

I'm now in the process of writing new songs for my next CD project. I now have a verbal agreement with a great Nashville Producer to record my next CD. I will be returning to Nashville in March 2012 to record. I learned a lot through my first CD endeavor. My experience taught me what to do and what not to do. Who to trust that has a passion for music. I'll strive to make this next project even better than the first. I love a good challenge!
